Motorpilot Case Study - Objective

Objective

The DoH (Department of Health), the government body responsible for health, social care and the National Health Service (NHS), required an online presence to primarily allow dissemination of the IVIg (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) Guideline and Demand Management Plan.

Motorpilot Ltd were approached to define, design and deploy a micro-site that fulfilled the project mission, whilst creating an enhanced and usable website for the key audiences.

Creative

The DoH and its associated bodies have a strict branding policy. Early in the process, it became clear that a series of completely separate designs would be required, as the ultimate ownership and therefore branding of the site, had not been defined.

After careful consultation with Motorpilot Ltd and the proposal of different site designs, it was agreed that the micro-site would have a very specific role and warranted a new, individual, look and feel.

Feedback from our recommended design proved an overwhelming success, with a layout that focuses on the main objective of the site, whilst allowing further information to be easily accessed and navigated.

Working with Deliotte (project management) and the DoH, all parties had regular meetings to keep track of progress. Motorpilot Ltd provided direct feedback and were an integral part of the decision making process.

The site was built with defined areas having a content management system (CMS) to allow designated administrators access to update the site, whilst retaining a consistent brand identity.

During the development phase, it became apparent that the DoH had a requirement to review and collate feedback from the IVIg Guideline and Demand Management Plan.

The process used in previous years had left some parties aggrieved that their comments had not been heard and no legacy plan or database of results was in place. Motorpilot Ltd developed an online document review system, allowing designated stakeholders the ability to review a document and submit suggested changes.

This review process could be performed by the Stakeholder on an ad-hoc basis, with the ability to sign-in and make further edits through the sites interface.

The document review system streamlined the whole process for all parties involved, proving a resounding success and allowing the finalised document to be prepared and delivered in advance of the initially suggested deadline.

Result

The DoH and Deliotte praised Motorpilot Ltd for their excellent work during all phases of this project.

After initial launch the website created traffic, interest and praise from a large number of parties. During further consultation with Motorpilot Ltd, the site was designated and developed into the National IVIg portal, allowing a consistent destination for further resources concerning IVIg to be published.
